New Tunes Promotions will host a Songwriter Workshop at The Foundry on Friday, August 17th from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m.The workshop will include how to make connections, learn tips and learn about places to get your songs heard. All genres and ages welcome. The event is free but RSVP's appreciated.
St. John's Lutheran Church will be hosting a Fish Fry at the church under the big tent. The menu consists of a fish sandwich with all the trimmings, potato salad, baked beans, coleslaw and drinks. Cost is a free-will donation.
Salem Church of Darmstadt will be having a Chicken Supper. Menu: Fried chicken or ham, mashed potatoes and gravy, dumplings, green beans, coleslaw, desserts and drinks. There will also be a country market and raffle, as well as live music. Carry outs will be available.

The Pregnancy Care Center in Washington, IN will host a Life Walk, 5K Walk/Run, on Saturday, September 1st at 9:00 a.m. EST at the Eastside Park in Washington, IN to benefit the Pregnancy Care Center. $20.00 per adult, $10.00 per child 12 and under. The Pike County Center for Women's Ministries is hosting GriefShare, a support group for women who have lost a loved one. The meeting will start every Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. EST beginning September 4th through November 27th. Each session is 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
