SUMMARY:Isaiah 117 House Event
DESCRIPTION:Isaiah 117 House exists to surround children with love from the time they are removed from their homes until foster placement is found. Currently\, when a child is removed from their home\, they must leave their possessions and their family and go to the Department of Child Services office to wait for foster placement. This process can take hours up to days. We believe that these children are inadvertently being sent a message that they have done something wrong. We want to change that message. We want these children to know that they have done nothing wrong\, that this is happening to them not because of them. We want them to know they are not alone. We believe the best way to do this is to show them love in both our words and our actions. We strive to meet their every need during this traumatic time. We want them to be allowed to pick out new clothes\, new shoes\, new backpacks\, a new stuffed animal\, play\, eat\, laugh\, etc. We want to lavishly love and change the message. We believe by changing the message we not only improve their understanding of themselves\, but also change the trajectory for that child’s future.
