DESCRIPTION:Messiah in the Passover Demonstration \nMESSIAH IN THE PASSOVER\, a vivid and exciting demonstration showing how Jesus fulfilled the ancient feast of Passover\, will be held on March 18\, 2020\nat 6:00pm at Cherry Street General Baptist Church in Carmi\, IL. \nMESSIAH IN THE PASSOVER will be conducted by Efraim Goldstein. \nChosen People Ministries is an over one hundred-year-old mission that was founded in 1894 by Leopold Cohn\, a Hungarian rabbi who came to believe that Jesus is the Messiah promised by the Hebrew Scriptures. From humble beginnings in Brooklyn\, New York\, Chosen People Ministries has grown into a worldwide ministry to “the Jew first and to the Gentile.” \nMESSIAH IN THE PASSOVER begins with the traditional Passover Seder table –\ncomplete with all the articles of this important Jewish celebration. The speaker will explain the symbolic meanings of the various items of the Passover feast and highlight their relationship to the Last Supper that Messiah celebrated with the disciples\, giving special emphasis on the redemptive significance of the crucifixion. \nMESSIAH IN THE PASSOVER gives the Christian community insight into Jewish traditions so that the Jewish roots of Christianity can be better understood. This program also helps the Jewish and Christian communities understand their common heritage. \nThis meeting is open to the public and is sponsored by the Carmi Ministerial Association and Cherry Street General Baptist Church. The Carmi Ministerial Association would like to invite the Christian as well as the Jewish community to attend. DESCRIPTION:The featured speaker will be Mike Hyde\, Director of Reflections of Freedom Ministries in Edmond\, Oklahoma. He will present a special program on family alcoholism and drugs at the Turning Point Apostolic Church.\nHyde states that 1 in 8 American adults (12.7% of U.S. population)\nnow meets diagnostic criteria for alcohol use disorder. One in ten becomes an alcoholic\, and that 70 percent of young people have engaged in heavy drinking. The “Reflections of Freedom Ministries” will be introducing a new approach to family alcoholism and drugs. The CD\, “Raised From The Ruins” by Fred Hyde (Mikes father)\, along with other materials. Hyde will also be giving true accounts of men and women who have been delivered from alcoholism and drugs.\nThis special program should be of great interest to those who would like to help anyone with alcohol and drug problems or is having alcohol or drug related problems in their own life or family. The program is Wednesday evening\, March 18th at the Turning Point Apostolic Church. The church is located at 11250 Church St. Cynthiana Indiana and the time will be 7:00 pm.
